She seems so delicate. I absolutely love your style, but this one particularly stuck out to me.

Thank you... the reason I loved working with this model was her ability to slip so easily between her more dominant and submissive demeanors. In this particular moment I saw a quiet sensuality I hadn't previously seen from her and knew I had to paint it.

By the way, I just checked out A Submissive's Initiative and I love the concept. I'm going to bookmark a few articles to read later today. Thank you so much for reach out to me.

The way you render texture is just amazing.  I feel like I could reach out an touch that couch, or her hair, and they would be solid.

Thank you so much! I really love textures and try to do my best to do them justice. I'm happy you think you can feel the painting.

Reminds me a bit of Lucian Freud's work but I actually may prefer your style and technique. Top notch.

That's certainly how I meant it! I assume you've heard that comparison before. Keep up the great work!

I've heard other comparisons before but never with Mr. Freud. I'm elated. Cheers!

What exactly is "distressed" Arches Cold Press Watercolor paper?  I don't use much watercolor paper so I don't know the terminology very well.  Rives BFK paper is my favorite to work on.  Arches cover paper is the only one of theirs I've used.

Your paintings are spectacular by the way.

What I mean by "distressed" is that I painted this on old watercolor paper I still had laying around from my MICA days. Over the past 13+ years it's been scratched, stained, yellowed by the sun and I'm sure a bevy of other minor abuses. I don't typically work on paper that have any kind of patina to it but this paper's texture directly influenced how the piece came out so I felt it necessary to point it out.

Rives is great paper - I love it as a drawing surface.

Thank you, I'm glad you like it. It's different from my other work but sometimes you just need to open up and play a little.

Gotcha. I thought it was a special treatment or type of paper.

I have a roll of Rives in my studio that is still in the paper packaging.  It has been in there for at least 8 years. I need to use it!

All of your work is amazing sir.  I marvel at your skills!

Rives is great paper. I used to draw on it all the time back in the day. Open that bad boy up and put it to good use!

I think I'll open it when I come off the road and can be in the studio more regularly.  I've been collecting road maps form all the states and want to do some big drawings on those first. Since the maps were free, I won't care if they get ruined.

If you ever want to buy a roll, I found this: www.utrechtart.com/Rives-BFK-P…

It is the cheapest I've seen it!

Thanks for the link. I think I need to run through the paper I already have before I start picking up new rolls - but I'l keep this link in mind!

Hope your travels are going well.
